REPATRIATION ADVISORY NOTICE
SOLOMON ISLANDS GOVERNMENT REPATRIATION PLAN FOR 21 AND 23 JULY 2020

In reference to the Joint Travel Advisory (JTA) No.4 issued by the Solomon Islands Government on 21st March 2020, the Chair of COVID-19 Oversight Committee, Mr James Remobatu hereby issued Repatriation Advisory Notice No.7 to all Solomon Islands citizens and non-nationals residing overseas on the next Government Repatriation Plan and wish to announce two more repatriation flights scheduled for 21st and 23rd July 2020.
A repatriation flight for Tuesday 21st July 2020 is confirmed, Solomon Airlines will operate IE690 flight from Brisbane to Honiara departing Brisbane International Airport on 21st July at 10.30pm and arriving Honiara International Airport at 2.35am on the morning of 22nd July 2020. Solomon Islands nationals located in Europe, Central America, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand who wish to return on this flight are advised to contact any Solomon Islands Missions nearest to your location at the earliest to register your names for consideration and further advice regarding this flight.
Another repatriation flight is tentatively scheduled for Thursday 23rd July 2020. Solomon Airlines is scheduled to operate a Honiara-Auckland-Honiara-Brisbane Service on this date prioritizing Solomon Islands nationals in New Zealand especially those under the Recognized Seasonal Employers (RSE) scheme. Concerned nationals are asked to liaise with the Solomon Islands High Commission Office in Wellington for further information. Approval is being sought from the New Zealand Government.
All nationals and non-nationals who will be boarding these scheduled flights must have valid Solomon Airlines tickets and are hereby strongly encouraged to contact Solomon Airlines Office for ticketing information. The Solomon Islands government remain vigilant to fight against the persistent global threat from this Covid-19 pandemic. With the upcoming repatriation flights the COVID-19 Oversight Committee wish to kindly remind all incoming travellers on the following requirements:
- That the Joint Travel Advisory No.4 issued by the Solomon Islands Government dated 21st March 2020 is currently in force and that all incoming travellers must take heed and comply with.
- With reference to the JTA No.4 paragraph 1.1 all non-nationals who wish to enter Solomon Islands MUST apply to the Office of the Prime Minister through the COVID-19 Oversight Committee for exemptions approval. Applications can be forwarded through the Office of the Secretary to Prime Minister or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade.
- All persons entering Solomon Islands will undergo mandatory quarantine at a Government identified quarantine station for a specified period provided under the Solomon Islands Emergency Powers (Covid-19) Regulations 2020.
- All persons entering Solomon Islands from COVID-19 affected countries (but with regressing rate of new infections and decreasing number of active cases) must provide two negative test results from their country of origin 14 days before traveling to Solomon Islands. All persons who do not provide 2 consecutive negative test results for COVID-19 before entering the country will undergo mandatory 14 days quarantine and surveillance at a Government identified quarantine station and will undergo a required number of qPCR tests for COVID- 19 to be determined by the Solomon Islands Government Health Authorities.
- All persons entering Solomon Islands from very high risks COVID-19 affected countries with infection rate increasing, consistently serious or wide community transmission report must provide 3 negative test results 21 days prior to travel (day 21, 10 and 2 days before travel). All persons who do not come with 3 consecutive negative qPCR tests will be required to have a 21-day in-country mandatory quarantine period, and be required to undertake a number of qPCR tests for COVID-19 to be determined by the Solomon Islands Government Health Authorities.
- It is a prerequisite for all incoming travellers to MUST complete a Pre-Departure Form (attached as annex 1) and return to the Solomon Islands Government Health Authorities at least 5 clear days before travelling into Solomon Islands. All completed pre-departure forms can be forwarded through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade or any Solomon Islands High Commissions and Embassy Missions nearest to your location.
All persons travelling or intending to travel to Solomon Islands are strongly encouraged to familiarise themselves with these travel requirements.
