Obtain a Recovery and Removal License

The Recovery and Removal License is a license that is issued by the Minister of Culture and Tourism for those who are interested in the following:

  1. Collect, excavate and remove WWII wrecks either to preserve as a museum piece or for restoration work.
  2. Individuals who would like to seek treasure but strictly with SIG supporting document proposal, complete safety requirements and clear evidence of the treasure.
  3. Recovery of WWII human remains.
  4. Building construction in active WWII areas or WWII garbage disposal areas.

A proposal must be submitted to the National Museum stating the nature of the activities before a license can be permitted.
