The Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) Senior Executive Management sends well wishes to all mothers employed and engaged in the health sector as families across the country prepare to mark Mother’s Day this weekend.
Like many other sectors, being a mother and working in the health sector too is often a daunting task and one that requires long working hours, over times and sacrifices most often at the expense of quality family (husbands and children) time and attending to family needs.
For instance with the global pandemic and the current roll out of COVID-19 vaccination along the western borderline communities in the Western and Choiseul Provinces, the majority of vaccinators are mothers many of whom have left their families 3 to 4 weeks to date. These mothers will not be able to wake up on mothers- day to receive gifts, hugs and word of thanks from their children and families for this Mother’s Day 2021.
There are also others in deployment away from their homes and will not have this one in year chance to celebrate mothers- day with their families while others providing essential services will be on duty on Mother’s Day this weekend for the health needs of our people.
For those who will be able to celebrate mothers -day with their families we wish you all a happy celebration filled with laughter and love.
On this note, the Health Senior Executive Management wish to take this this opportunity to sincerely thank each and every single mother health workers across the country from the most rural and remote communities and islands across the country to the provincial urban centres and the capital Honiara.
Your commitment and dedication towards our people in ensuring they are provided with the best health care and services to the best of your ability, capacity and capability is truly commendable and deeply appreciated.
Nurses who are also mothers vaccinating themselves before heading out to western borderline communities in Choiseul to roll out vaccination there. Both are currently in deployment away from home.
May God continue to bless your hands to save lives, cure sicknesses and diseases and provide care to our people who require our services.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO YOU ALL!
