About the Correctional Service Solomon Islands
The Correctional Service of the Solomon Islands (CSSI) is a key component of the Solomon Islands Criminal Justice System and is responsible for persons referred to by the court.
The CSSI’s basic function is to look after inmates with humanity, helping them to reform and lead law abiding and productive lives upon their release.
It operates in accordance with the Solomon Islands Constitution, the UN Minimum Standards on the Treatment of Prisoners, the CSSI Acts and Regulations, and other Criminal Justice Legislations.
The CSSI operates six (6) Correctional Centres within the country.
