Road Construction Works – Yacht Club Road Junction

The public is advised that road construction works at the seaside section of the Yacht Club Road Junction are scheduled to commence on 25 May 2026. The works will include pavement construction and asphalt sealing and are expected to be completed within ten (10) days, subject to weather conditions.

In this connection, the public is advised as follows:

1. The seaside lane from DBSI to the SIPA Junction will be closed to traffic. Eastbound vehicles will traverse the inner/left lane on the landside section starting in front of the RSIPF Fire Department and continue to the left lane on the seaside section at the SIPA Junction.
2. Vehicles travelling to and from Yacht Club Road will use Commonwealth Road as an alternative access route.
3. The work area will be properly barricaded, with traffic signage and safety devices installed prior to the commencement of works.
4. Pedestrian walkways and designated crossing points will be provided at selected locations. Safety Officers/Traffic Controllers will be stationed on site to assist pedestrians and motorists and to ensure safe and smooth traffic flow.
5. Due to lane narrowing, traffic congestion is expected. The public is advised to plan their travel accordingly when entering the CBD area.
6. Pedestrians and drivers are advised to follow the directions of Traffic personnel at all times while works are in progress.
7. All pedestrians are required to cross only at designated crossing points to ensure safety and minimise traffic congestion.
8. Access to offices and businesses within the work area, including Mendana Hotel, Solomon Motors and other nearby premises, will be maintained at all times during the construction period. Motorists and visitors are advised to follow the directions of Traffic Controllers when entering or exiting these locations.
9. The Traffic Management Plans are attached for reference. Additional signage may be installed as required, and the work schedule may be adjusted depending on weather conditions.
