RSIPF Officers Complete Four-Day Leadership Training
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have successfully completed four days of leadership training delivered by Pacific Australia Skills at the Rove Police Headquarters from 5 to 8 October 2026.
The training was facilitated by the RSIPF Academy’s Learning and Development Department.
The training covered two leadership courses on foundational leadership skills and people leadership skills, aimed at strengthening officers’ leadership knowledge and equipping them with essential skills to perform their leadership responsibilities effectively.
The four-day training provided participants with valuable knowledge and a better understanding of different leadership styles, the qualities of a good leader, and how to apply effective leadership skills in their respective workplaces.
Participants found the courses helpful and relevant to their leadership roles, particularly in understanding the different types of leadership and the importance of becoming effective leaders who can guide, support, and motivate others.
There is strong interest in having similar training delivered to more officers in the future, particularly senior police constables, who are often required to take on leadership responsibilities in their respective workplaces.
Equipping these officers with appropriate leadership knowledge and skills will help them carry out their responsibilities more effectively and provide better guidance and support to their colleagues.
The RSIPF looks forward to further opportunities to deliver similar leadership development programmes to officers across the Force.
The RSIPF also acknowledges and extends its sincere appreciation to the Pacific Australia Skills team for providing this important and valuable training, which contributes to strengthening the leadership capacity and professional development of RSIPF officers.
