
Road Construction Works – Point Cruz, Mendana Avenue
The public is advised of the following scheduled road construction works at Point Cruz, along Mendana Avenue, from the Hot Bread Roundabout to the HCC Roundabout:
- 21 May 2026 – Pavement works at the seaside section from the Central Market to the HCC Roundabout. These works are expected to be completed within three (3) weeks.
- 23 May 2026 – Construction of a road pipe crossing at the eastern landside section of the Hot Bread Roundabout. These works are expected to be completed within three (3) to four (4) days.
In relation to these works, the public is further advised as follows:
- Traffic flow adjustments will be implemented to provide sufficient space for construction activities.
- Work areas will be properly barricaded, with traffic signs and safety devices installed prior to the commencement of works.
- Pedestrian walkways and designated crossing points will be provided at selected locations. Traffic Controllers from the Contractor, RSIPF, and RTB will be stationed on site to assist pedestrians and motorists and to ensure safe and smooth traffic flow.
- Pedestrians and motorists are advised to follow the directions of Traffic Controllers and Police Officers at all times while works are in progress.
- Due to lane narrowing, traffic congestion is expected. Members of the public are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly when entering the CBD area.
- Temporary bus terminals for eastbound passengers will be located within the MID Works Compound.
- Pedestrians are required to use only designated crossing points to ensure public safety and minimise traffic congestion.
- A Traffic Management Plan is attached for reference. Additional signage may be installed as required, and work schedules may be adjusted depending on weather conditions.
