Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following vacant positions in the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology.  Men and women from all provinces are encouraged to apply.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Professional procurement certification.

Desirable Qualification

  • Master’s Degree in logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Certificate in Emergency Logistics, Procurement or Humanitarian Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience in Emergency procurement and disaster response logistics.

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years relevant experience in logistics, procurement and supply chain management, including supervisory responsibilities.
MECDM 17/2026 299-00114 Senior Community Based Disaster Risk Management Officer (CBDRM) L7/8 Honiara Mandatory Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Disaster Risk Management, Community Development, Environmental Management, Climate Change, Social Sciences, Rural Development or a related field

Desirable Qualifications

  • Training or certification in Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM), Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Climate Change.
  • Experience working with NGOs, Solomon Islands Red Cross (SIR), Church’s, civil society organisations (CSOs) donor funded programmes, or Provincial Governments.
  • Experience facilitating community consultations, training, awareness programmes and stakeholder coordination forums.

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years work experience in climate change duties, in emergency situation related duties.
  • At least 2 years minimum working in government sector or similar institution.
MECDM
18/2026		 200-00012 Administration Officer (IT) L7/8 Honiara Mandatory Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or equivalent qualification in IT Desktop/Helpdesk capacity or various sectors in ICT or equivalent.

Desirable Qualification

  • A Diploma in IT with a related experience in an IT Desktop/Helpdesk capacity or various sectors in ICT or equivalent
  • Industry qualifications such as ITIL Foundation or Microsoft certified professional certificates i.e. MCSA or MCSE would be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 – 3 years work experience in government sectors or similar institution.
