Holy Bible: our Spiritual weapon to war against COVID-19
The Spiritual father of the Correctional Service Solomon Islands (CSSI) Chaplain Fr. Inspector Reginald Tohutohuniu highlighted 6 Christian tips to CSSI Covid-19 spiritual link this morning
These tips were
1: Recall past victories.
2: Reject discouraging words.
3: Recognize the true nature of battle.
4: Respond to the challenge with positive confession.
5: Rely on the power of God.
6: Reckon that victory is not ours but God.
“I wish to oppose this question. “What do you think that makes David to defeat greatest Philistinian warrior Goliath?” Inspector Fr. Tohutohuniu asked the officers during the morning devotion
Fr. Inspector Tohutohuniu remind officers that the secret of David’s success was his ability to trust and obey God. Had he looked merely at the giant challenge facing him, he would have turned around and run away, as did the rest of the Israelites. But through faith, David saw what his countrymen did not see.
“Dear CSSI ranks and files in our times of extreme pressure, fear and anxieties like the current situation of Covid 19, God stretches our dependence on Him. Without a strong, abiding faith, we can quickly yield to fear, especially when the trial or difficulty is intense or prolonged.
“Every challenges in life presents an opportunity for God to display His faithfulness and love. Instead of yielding to thoughts of fear and failures, we must make a commitment to trust God, even when we do not know what the next day will bring”. He encouraged the officers
Fr. Tohutohuniu said we must train ourselves to look beyond what we can see to what God sees. David founded his faith in the sovereignty of God; that’s why he knew he would not fail in his quest to defeat the Philistine giant and we must learn to face this COVID -19 situation with confidence and hope, because it is not our strength, wisdom, energy, or power that bring healing and victory.
Triumph comes because of God’s ability, and when we place our trust in Him, our tap into an irresistible force that no one and nothing can successfully oppose. Trusting God means looking beyond what we can see to what God sees.
