Titige SSEC Church host Sunday Service for TCC Inmates

The Titige South Sea Evangelical Church (SSEC) Local Church hosted a combined Sunday worship service with the Tetere Correctional Centre (TCC) Inmates Singing Ministry Group on Sunday, 14 June 2026.

The program provided inmates with an opportunity to engage with the wider community, receive spiritual encouragement, and experience positive social interaction as part of their rehabilitation journey.

Welcoming the visiting group, Titige SSEC Senior Pastor, Pastor John Nonile, expressed appreciation to the Tetere Correctional Centre management, staff, and inmates for accepting the church’s invitation to participate in the service.

Pastor Nonile said, the inmates’ participation demonstrated the transformative power of faith and community support. Your efforts are a testament to the power of faith and community in transforming lives, even during your time behind bars.

During the service, Pastor Vensio delivered a message on the theme, “God’s Love for Those Who Were Lost,” based on the Parable of the Prodigal Son found in Luke 15:11–32.

Pastor Vensio highlighted that the parable presents a powerful picture of God’s grace while also illustrating the consequences of sin. He encouraged all believers to repent, turn away from sin, and place their faith in Jesus Christ.

Representing Tetere Correctional Centre, Deputy Commandant Mr Roy Leni said, the program aligns closely with the centre’s rehabilitation and reintegration objectives by providing inmates with opportunities to interact positively with community members as they prepare for their eventual return to society.

Deputy Commandant Leni commended the church leadership and congregation for their generosity and support.

“We sincerely thank Pastor Nonile, the church elders, and the Titige Christian family for your kind invitation and for providing this opportunity for our inmates to participate in community religious fellowship”.

On behalf of the Commissioner of the Correctional Service of Solomon Islands, the Tetere Correctional Centre Commandant, staff, and inmates, Deputy Commandant Leni conveyed gratitude to the church for its hospitality and ministry.

“Thank you for today’s program and warm hospitality. You have demonstrated a heart for serving others and helping to save the lost, the least, and the last”, says Leni.

The service concluded with fellowship and prayers for the continued spiritual growth of inmates and for God’s blessings upon the ministry and community outreach efforts of the Titige SSEC Church.
