The Noro police operation team conducted a high-visibility route march as part of the community engagement and to ensure safety in the township in preparation for the Pacific Island Forum Leaders (PIFL) retreat in Noro.
Operation Commander in Western Province, Supervising Deputy Commissioner (DC) Operations Mr. Mathias Lenialu said, “This initiative comes as part of the preparations for the upcoming PIFL retreat, which will take place this week.”
Supervising DC Mr. Lenialu said, “The route march consists of two groups. Group one started at the Bari area to the Noro police station, and group two began at the Mobile area to the Noro police station.”
“We believe that community engagement is important to effective policing. Today’s route march is not just about visibility; it’s about building trust with the residents of Noro Town,” said Mr. Lenialu.
He said, “As we prepare for the PILF retreat, police want to assure our communities in Noro and Munda that we are here to serve and protect lives. Residents of Noro Town are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to police.”
Police will continue their community engagement efforts leading up to and during the PIFL retreat.
