Swearing-In Ceremony for Commissioners Jeffrey Deve and Victor Ngele
The Solomon Islands Electoral Commission (SIEC) is pleased to announce that Commissioners Mr. Jeffrey Sade Deve and Mr. Victor Ngele were officially sworn in today, Monday, 1 June 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Government House, Honiara.
The ceremony was officiated by His Excellency Sir David Tiva Kapu, Governor-General of Solomon Islands, who administered the Oaths of Office.
Present at the swearing-in ceremony were the Chairlady of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Taeasi Sanga, and the Chief Electoral Officer and Commissioner, Mr. Jasper Highwood Anisi, who joined in witnessing this important occasion.
Mr. Deve and Mr. Ngele have both served with distinction as Members of the Electoral Commission. Following the expiry of their previous terms, their continued service and invaluable contributions to the Commission were recognised, and they were subsequently recommended by the Judicial and Legal Service Commission (JLSC) for appointment as Members of the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission. Their appointments were formally confirmed by His Excellency the Governor-General.
The reappointment of Commissioners Deve and Ngele ensures continuity, stability, and experienced leadership within the Commission as it continues to uphold its mandate of delivering transparent, lawful, and credible electoral processes in Solomon Islands.
The Solomon Islands Electoral Commission congratulates Commissioners Deve and Ngele on their appointments and extends its appreciation to the Judicial and Legal Service Commission, the Office of the Governor-General, and all those who attended and witnessed this important occasion.
