
Solomon Islands Special Economic Zone Authority Holds Inaugural Board Meeting
Honiara, 29 September 2026: The Solomon Islands Special Economic Zone Authority (SISEZA) officially convened its inaugural Board meeting on Friday, 18 September 2026, at the Heritage Park Hotel in Honiara.
This landmark event marks a vital milestone in establishing and operationalising the Authority.
The meeting brought together newly appointed Board members to assume governance responsibilities and establish strategic priorities for the development and management of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) across the country.
The operationalisation of SISEZA serves as a key pillar in strengthening the Solomon Islands’ investment ecosystem, enhancing private sector growth, driving economic diversification, and fostering long-term sustainable development.
The Board will continue its initial business in the coming weeks and the remaining months of 2026 to finalise core administrative, regulatory, and policy frameworks.
