SOLOMON ISLANDS REVIVE ITS ORIGINAL IDENTITY,
“Hapi Isles”
Honiara – 29/10/2026: The Solomon Islands has revived its original identity, “Hapi Isles,” a brand that celebrates the stories of its people, cultures and spectacular natural beauty.
The renewed branding aims to reinforce the country’s tourism profile across the Pacific and showcase its unique identity to the region and the world.
Chairman of Tourism Solomons Board, Mr. Anthony Langston unveiled the national identity at a farewell reception for the South Pacific Tourism Organization (SPTO) Board of Directors and Council of Tourism Ministers’ Meeting, held at Heritage Park Hotel in Honiara, on Thursday 22 October 2026.
He explained a reason for reviving this original identity is “our government wants the authentic identity we always had.”
Solomon Islands has some of the richest cultures in the world. Its natural heritage, world class diving, living traditions and its warm people, but its story has not been told as boldly as it should be. These are the stories this new expression will tell of Solomon Islands to the world.
“Travelers today want to visit real places, real stories and real people. Our Pacific have this and we the Solomons have it all.
“The question was; never do we have something special? The question was; are we showing it properly? Our old looks served us well, but it’s time for a brand that matches who we are today and who we want to be tomorrow,” Langston said.
He said this is the new face of the Solomon Islands and urged friends across the Pacific to carry the brand to the world.
“To our Pacific friends, especially the Pacific tourism organizations, we want you to see this first and hope to carry the brand with you to the world,” Langston said.
