SAFENET wishes to inform the public that the Seif Ples crisis accommodation at Rove, Honiara will remain close until Monday, 28 June 2021, due to the infection control and pest management that has been carried out on the premises. It will reopen once the premises are again safe for the health and safety of both staff and clients. SAFENET has enacted an alternative referral pathway directing survivors of gender-based violence seeking emergency accommodation to the Christian Care Centre.
SAFENET also wishes to inform the public that the Seif Ples clinic will also remain closed until Monday, 28 June 2021. For assistance for sexual and reproductive health, rape, and sexual assault please go to your nearest Honiara City Council Clinic, the National Referral Hospital or Solomon Islands Planned Parenthood Association (SIPPA).
As the custodian of the national SAFENET 24/7 domestic violence hotline #132, Seif Ples staff have ensured the ongoing availability of the hotline for any callers seeking assistance and information regarding support for domestic violence.
The Solomon Islands SAFENET is a referral network made up of organisations that provide essential services to victims/survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. SAFENET members include Seif Ples, Christian Care Centre, Family Support Centre, Solomon Islands Planned Parenthood Association (SIPPA), RSIPF Family Violence Unit and Sexual Assault Unit, Public Solicitors Office, HCC Clinics, the NRH, Social Welfare Division and Integrated Mental Health.
