RSIPF Contingent Continues to Support UN Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) contingent currently deployed under the United Nations (UN) Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) continues to contribute towards the implementation of the UN mandate in support of peacekeeping, protection of civilians, promotion of human rights, and strengthening of law and order within the mission area.
The Solomon Islands contingent is comprised of experienced and dedicated officers selected to represent the RSIPF and the Solomon Islands in the international peacekeeping environment.
Officers deployed under the mission continue to perform their duties and responsibilities in accordance with United Nations standards, policies, and operational procedures while promoting the core values of integrity, accountability, respect, and impartiality.
Throughout the deployment period, the contingent has remained actively engaged in operational duties, community-oriented policing activities, monitoring and reporting responsibilities, capacity-building engagements, and coordination with local authorities and humanitarian partners.
Officers also continue to support the mission’s efforts in maintaining peace and stability while promoting trust and cooperation between communities and law enforcement agencies.
The inclusion of both male and female officers within the contingent demonstrates the RSIPF commitment to gender representation and inclusive participation in international peacekeeping operations.
Female officers continue to play a vital role in community engagement, protection of vulnerable persons, gender-based violence awareness, and supporting confidence-building initiatives within communities.
The contingent remains committed to maintaining professionalism, discipline, and effective cooperation while serving alongside international police officers and other mission components.
The contingent continues to uphold the reputation and professional image of the RSIPF through disciplined conduct, teamwork, cultural respect, and commitment to the objectives of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan.
