Road Construction Works – Drainage Works at the Central Market Area
This is to inform the general public that drainage works along the road section from in front of the South Sea Evangelical Church (SSEC) to the Wesley United Church will commence on Sunday, 22 March 2026.
The works will take place along the seaside carriageway and will include the construction of drainage pits and the installation of stormwater pipes.
In connection with these works, the public is advised as follows:
- Road Closure:
The outer (seaside) lane will be closed to traffic. All eastbound vehicles are required to use the inner lane. - Safety Measures:
For public safety, the work area will be properly barricaded starting Saturday, 21 March 2026. Traffic signs and other safety devices will be installed prior to the commencement of works. - Pedestrian Access:
Pedestrian walkways and designated crossing points will be provided at selected locations. Safety Officers/Traffic Controllers will be deployed to assist both pedestrians and motorists to ensure safety and maintain smooth traffic flow.
A Traffic Management Plan is attached for reference. Additional signage may be installed as necessary based on site conditions. Please note that the work schedule may be adjusted depending on weather conditions.
