Road Construction Works – Drainage Works at Hot Bread Roundabout
The public is advised that drainage system works at the eastern landside section of the Hot Bread Roundabout are scheduled to commence on 25 May 2026. The works will involve the construction of drainage pits and the installation of stormwater pipes and are expected to be completed within two (2) days.
In this connection, the public is advised as follows:
- The landside lane from the Hot Bread Roundabout to the landside section in front of the old Guadalcanal Headquarters Road will be closed to traffic. Westbound vehicles will use the inner/left lane at the seaside section and proceed through the left lane at the landside section of the Hot Bread Roundabout.
- Eastbound vehicles will use the outer/left lane along the seaside section from the Hot Bread Roundabout to the junction of the old Guadalcanal Headquarters Road.
- The work area will be properly barricaded, with traffic signs and safety devices installed prior to the commencement of works.
- Pedestrian walkways and designated crossing points will be provided at selected locations. Police, RTB and HCC Traffic Personnel, together with the Contractor’s Safety Officers and Traffic Controllers, will be on site to assist pedestrians and motorists and to ensure safe and smooth traffic flow.
- Due to lane narrowing, traffic congestion is expected. The public is therefore advised to plan their travel accordingly when entering the CBD area.
- Pedestrians and drivers are advised to follow the directions of traffic personnel at all times while works are in progress.
- All pedestrians are required to cross only at designated crossing points to ensure safety and minimize traffic congestion.
- The Traffic Management Plans are attached for reference. Additional signage may be installed as required, and the work schedule may be adjusted depending on weather conditions.
Prefer to the attached Traffic Management Plan for details.
