Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele Concludes Provincial Visit to Western and Isabel Provinces
Honiara Solomon Islands, Friday 14 November 2025 – Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele concluded a four-day visit to Western and Isabel provinces, officially opening and handing over key government projects.
Accompanying him on the tour were the Minister for Police, National Security and Correctional Services, Hon. Jimson Tanangada; the Minister for Health & Medical Services, Dr. Paul Bosawai; and other senior officials from the Office of the Prime Minister & Cabinet (OPMC) and the Ministry of Health & Medical Services. For the Noro programs in Western Province, he was joined by the Minister for Fisheries, Hon. Bradley Tovosia, and the Member of Parliament for West New Georgia & Vonavona, Hon. George Temahua.
During the visit, the Prime Minister officially opened the Noro Police Station, strengthening law enforcement and public confidence; handed over the Noro Fisheries Complex and Noro Data Centre, advancing fisheries management and national digital resilience; formally delivered the 20 % KFPL share certificate to Kolombangara landowners, recognising their rightful ownership in sustainable forestry; and in Isabel Province he oversaw the launch of the upgraded Deva Rural Health Clinic and the launch of the Konide Area Health Centre (AHC) – a SBD 20 million facility equivalent to a mini‑hospital that includes a staff house and is fully funded by the Solomon Islands Government.
“Good health, safety, and access to services are essential for our people,” Prime Minister Manele said. “These openings and handovers demonstrate the government’s commitment to delivering critical infrastructure across the provinces.”
Prime Minister Manele will next attend the Solomon Islands 14th Australia–Solomon Islands Business Forum in Brisbane next week.
