PRIME MINISTER COMMENDS REGIONAL WATER CONFERENCE
Honiara, Friday 5 September 2025 – Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele has commended the recent Pacific Water and Wastewater Conference and Expo for advancing critical discussions on sustainable access to clean water.
During his press conference on Wednesday, the Prime Minister recognised the Ministry of Mines, Energy and Rural Electrification for its leadership, including the inclusion of “Water Warriors” in the conference communique, and Solomon Water for their vital role.
“The Government wishes them every success as they continue efforts to ensure clean water for all communities across the country. My Office and the government stand ready to support their future work,” he said.
He noted that the conference was an example of successful collaboration between government agencies and communities, and that outcomes from the event would inform ongoing national and regional efforts to improve water access and waste water management.
Prime Minister Manele highlighted that such collaborative efforts demonstrate Solomon Islands’ capacity to host major regional events, setting a strong example for the upcoming 54th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting.
