Police commissioner met with Burns Creek community leaders

The Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), Mr. Ian Vaevaso, today met with elders of the Burns Creek community at the Rove Police Headquarters to discuss the ongoing community policing program in the Burns Creek area.

During the meeting, the leaders assured Commissioner Vaevaso of their full support and commitment to working together with the police to curb criminal activities within the Burns Creek community.

The elders are willing to stand alongside the RSIPF in ensuring peace, safety, and security for all residents.

The elders also expressed their interest in working closely with the police to strengthen the community policing committee in their respective areas.

A total of six members of the Burns community leaders attended the meeting with the police commissioner.

Commissioner Vaevaso acknowledged and thanked the committee members for their presence and for openly sharing their concerns regarding security issues affecting their communities.

He further acknowledged their commitment towards ensuring the safety of citizens within Burns Creek and surrounding communities.

The Commissioner highlighted the importance of strong partnerships between the police and communities in addressing law and order challenges and maintaining public safety.

The Burns Creek elders expressed their appreciation to Commissioner Vaevaso for making time to meet with them and for considering the support needed to assist their community’s community policing team.

They reaffirmed that the communities are prepared to continue supporting the RSIPF in its efforts to maintain law and order.

The RSIPF remains committed to strengthening community policing initiatives and building stronger relationships with communities throughout the Solomon Islands.
