Police charge 18-yr-old for 23 counts of rape in Western Province
Gizo police have arrested an 18-year-old male suspect for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in a village in Kolombangara island, Western Province.
The suspect has been charged with 23 counts of rape and is currently remanded at Gizo Correctional Facility, awaiting his trial date.
The rape incident occurred on a specific unknown date between 1st January 2025 and 12 August 2026.
The sad thing in this rape incident is that the aunty of the victim is the one who planned the rape incident with the suspect.
This kind of situation is deeply concerning, as the victim’s aunt should have been the one to protect her. Instead, she was the one who arranged for the suspect to rape the victim.
Gizo police will deal with the victim’s aunty and bring her before the court to face a fair trial for her decision on the rape incidents.
