Honiara, Solomon Islands – Prime Minister Mathew Wale has joined the staff of the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (OPMC) to officiate his first flag-raising ceremony as Prime Minister this morning.
The Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet observes, as a customary practice, the flag-raising ceremony at the Office compound every Monday throughout the year.
The ceremony signifies national unity that holds the nation together. It involves the raising of the National Flag and the singing of the National Anthem.
Prime Minister Wale is excited that the Office is observing the ceremony and encourages Ministries and Government agencies, including schools, to continue the practice.
