A Message of Gratitude and Unity 2026
On this blessed occasion of the 48th Independence Anniversary of Solomon Islands, the Electoral Commission extends heartfelt greetings to the Government and People of Solomon Islands
We give thanks to Almighty God for His unfailing love and guidance over our islands. Independence is not only a celebration of our sovereignty, but also a tribute to the hardworking people of every race, gender, and communities who continue to serve with dedication, lead with integrity, and take responsibility for the progress of our nation.
From the villages to the towns, from the classrooms to the hospitals, from the farms to our offices, men and women, young and old, have carried the weight of responsibility with courage and faith. Your tireless service and leadership are the living pillars of our democracy and the heartbeat of our independence.
As custodians of the electoral process, we are reminded that true freedom thrives when all citizens are included, respected, and empowered to shape the destiny of our nation. Guided by God’s wisdom, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that every voice, regardless of race, gender, or background, is heard and valued.
As we celebrate our 48th Independence Anniversary, let us embrace this year’s theme: “Our Nation, Our Responsibility and Accountability – Building a GREAT Solomon Islands.” May this inspiring theme remind every citizen that nation-building is a shared responsibility founded on integrity, accountability, unity, and service. Together, let us continue working hand in hand to build a stronger, more peaceful, more prosperous, and truly GREAT Solomon Islands for present and future generations.
May God grant wisdom to our leaders, strength to our people, and abundant blessings upon our islands.
Happy 48th Independence Day! May God Bless Solomon Islands from Shore to Shore.
