A Joyful and Blessed Easter, 2026.
On behalf of the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission, we extend our warmest greetings as we celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Easter is a season of triumph and renewal, reminding us that through sacrifice comes forgiveness, and through resurrection comes everlasting hope.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3
May the joy of the Risen Lord fill our homes, families, and communities. The joy that comes from Christ’s last words on the Cross, ‘It is finished,’ (John 19:30) or ‘paid in full’. All our sins past, present, and future were atoned for at Calvary. We can add nothing to our Salvation. The joy and assurance of eternal life that Christ offered at Calvary is ours when we repent of our sin and put our faith in Jesus. This is a personal decision only an individual can make.
Romans 10:9 says ‘If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. To ‘believe’ here means to entrust your life completely over to Jesus Christ. Entrusting and submitting to the Lordship of Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins, by which you will receive eternal life in Him.
To receive this eternal life, you need to begin a personal relationship with Jesus this Easter, pray this prayer if this is your desire.
‘Dear Lord Jesus, I believe you died for me and that Your blood paid for my sins. Please forgive me for my sins. I entrust my life over to You as Lord. Thank You for dying for me, forgiving my sin and giving me the gift of eternal life. I turn away from sin today and submit to You as my Lord and Saviour. Lead and guide me in Your way. Amen’.
The Electoral Commission, as an independent body mandated by the Constitution, reaffirms its responsibility to safeguard democracy by delivering free, fair, and inclusive elections. Just as Easter renews our faith, so too must we renew our commitment to integrity, unity, and shared responsibility in shaping the destiny of our nation.
Together, let us continue to build “A United and Progressive Solomon Islands,” grounded in peace, good governance, and sustainable prosperity.
