ODPP releases Pikinini Video Series
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has created a series of videos for child witnesses.
The Pikinini Videos provide important information to children about the court process. This includes an explanation about safeguards that are available for when a child gives evidence in court. The videos also contain important information about support services for children.
The videos can be viewed on the ODPP webpage on the SIG Portal: https://solomons.gov.sb/ministry-of-justice-and-legal-affairs/office-of-the-director-of-public-prosecutions/
They can also be viewed on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCr7zik2Aqnm8SMC28DMEz_Q.
DPP Andrew Kelesi welcomed the release of the videos: “With help from Rosie the turtle, the Pikinini Videos allow us to explain to children the court process in a clear and child-friendly way. The videos are also a valuable resource for parents, family members and others so that everyone understands what to expect during the court process.”
The Pikinini Video Series were produced by Storeroom Productions with the support of the Australian Government.
