The Northwest Guadalcanal Development Association (NWGDA) yesterday hosted Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare and his delegation just 48 days after launching their constitution.
Cabinet Ministers, Backbenchers and Senior Officials accompanied Prime Minister Sogavare during the visit that inspired Association members to strengthen their objectives.
In his remarks to welcome PM Sogavare and delegation, the chairperson of the NWGDA Simon Chottu thanked the PM and members of the cabinet for gracing the association’s home.
Chottu also used the occasion to highlight the achievements of NWGDA to date and the challenges the association has faced.
Mr Chottu also presented a copy of the Associations constitution to Prime Minister Sogavare at the end of the visit.
More than a hundred people turned up to witness the occasion.
Paramount chiefs of Sahalu and Tandai wards also presented a Chupu as a symbol of respect for gracing their home and a Guadalcanal shell money as a gesture to farewell the Prime Minister.
Early last month, the Northwest Guadalcanal Development Association also presented its constitution to the Premier of Guadalcanal.
