NORTH GUADALCANAL CONSTITUENCY PROVIDES $100,000 IN CONSECRATION SUPPORT TO TWO CHURCHES
The North Guadalcanal Constituency (NGC) Office, under the leadership of Honourable Dr. Paul Bosawai, continues to render unwavering support to churches, a commitment that helps ensure they can thrive and serve their congregations effectively.
This support reflects the NGC Office’s ongoing recognition of the vital role churches play in bringing hope, unity, and service to communities across the constituency.
Last week, NGC provided financial assistance totalling $100,000.00, with $50,000.00 each going to All Saints of Melanesia Bubulu Anglican Church and Saint Mary Metapona Anglican Church.
Constituency Development Officer (CDO) Simon Ngoli said the assistance reflects the NGC Office’s ongoing dedication, under the leadership of Hon. Dr. Bosawai, to supporting churches, particularly the two churches as they prepare for their consecrations in October and November this year.
“Churches play a vital role in bringing hope, unity, and service to our communities. We remain committed to providing resources wherever possible to help them succeed in their mission,” he said.
CDO Ngoli added, “In difficult times, churches are more important than ever as centres of hope and community. They are the pillars of society, and it’s our responsibility to support their work. Our goal is to help churches continue their vital role and reach more people.”
On behalf of the Member of Parliament for NGC, Honourable Dr. Paul Bosawai, and the constituency office, Mr. Ngoli extended congratulations to the communities of Saint Mary Metapona Anglican Church and All Saints of Melanesia Bubulu Anglican Church.
“Your outstanding dedication, cooperation, and tireless efforts to complete your respective church buildings have not gone unnoticed. Preparing a church for consecration requires immense shared sacrifice, fundraising, and physical labour, and both communities have demonstrated what can be achieved through unity and faith.
“As you reach the finish line of this hard work, we look forward to celebrating these milestones with you.
“Thank you for building lasting sanctuaries for worship and fellowship that will serve your communities for generations to come. May God richly bless the final preparations for these historic events,” CDO Ngoli said.
Saint Mary Metapona Anglican Church will hold its official consecration (dedication) next month in October 2026, while All Saints of Melanesia Bubulu Anglican Church will hold its own in November 2026.
The support was made possible through funding from the Solomon Islands Government through the Ministry of Rural Development’s Constituency Development Programme (CDP), under the NGC Office’s 2026 CDF budget allocation, in compliance with Section 26(2)(d) and (3)(d) of the CDF Act 2023.
The CDF is the financing component of the Solomon Islands Government’s Constituency Development Programme, administered by the MRD and implemented across all 50 constituencies to improve rural livelihoods.
