Nomination Closes 4pm 4th of March 2026
The Solomon Islands Electoral Office (SIEO) would like to remind intending candidates for the upcoming Provincial By-Elections in Malaita and Isabel Provinces, that candidate nomination closes tomorrow, 4th of March 2026.
Those wishing to contest the by-elections must visit nomination centres in respective provinces to complete their nomination before 4pm on Wednesday, 4th March 2026.
Come prepared by bringing your three nominators with you, your nomination fee of $2500 to avoid last minutes disappoints. Nominators Must be registered voter in the electoral ward you are contesting.
If you are contesting West Baegu/Fataleka ward By-election, visit the nomination centre at the Malaita Provincial Assembly (Green House) in Auki. Intending candidate in communities within Koviloko ward or around Buala in Isabel must visit the nomination centre at Education Building in Buala.
Returning and Assistant Returning Officers at the nomination centres should be able to help facilitate your nomination.
Nominated candidate who may wish to withdraw their nomination must do so in writing informing the Returning Officer of his/her intention by 4pm 4th of March 2026, 48 hours from the close time and date of nomination.
Incomplete nomination will be disqualified with no acceptance of nomination after the close of nomination.
