Staff members from the Bina Harbour Project Office recently had the privilege of attending the 45th Pacific Maritime Transport Alliance (PMTA) Conference, a prestigious event that brings together industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders from the Pacific region.
The Project Office team, who attended the conference comprised representatives from Johnstaff International Development (JID) and Bina Region Arrangement for Governance (BRAG), who work alongside the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources (MFMR).
JID and BRAG are funded by the Aotearoa New Zealand Government and have been collaborating to enhance the sustainable development of the Bina Harbour Tuna Processing Plant (BHTPP) project.
The conference was hosted in Honiara over 3 days and provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and networking in the maritime transport sector.
The PMTA Conference, held annually, serves as a hub for sharing best practices, discussing emerging trends, and addressing challenges in the maritime industry. This year’s event focused on the key theme: “Climate Change: Sustainability and Resilience of Pacific Ports.”
With a diverse range of sessions and workshops, attendees gained insights into the latest developments and strategies shaping the Pacific maritime transport landscape.
The participation of the Bina Harbour Project Office staff in the conference demonstrated their commitment to stay informed about industry advancements.
