The National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) in Honiara successfully conducted a two-day workshop for community leaders within Honiara at Saint Albans Parish Hall last week.
NCPD Director, Superintendent John Matamaru says, “A total of 53 community leaders in Honiara attended the workshop.”
Director Matamaru says, “This workshop brings an opportunity for both the community leaders and police to convey and know what issues faced, the possible cause and the best way to address it.”
Superintendent Matamaru says, “With the knowledge gained and learnt from both parties involved we are confident that we have better ways to approach the challenges faced in our communities. Through this workshop our community leaders have more knowledge and understand the Crime Prevention Strategies,” says Director Matamaru.

Mr Matamaru says, “We held this workshop not only for the upcoming two major events like Pacific Games 2023 and National General Election 2024 but for daily peace in our communities.”
