We wish the Governor General, the Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, Public Servants, Provincial leaders, Chiefs, Church leaders, Women, Youth, Children and all the good people of Solomon Islands a Happy and Peaceful 44th Independence Anniversary Celebrations on the 7th of July, 2022.
The last 44 years were undoubtedly not easy for us as a small island nation, we have gone through challenging times but with God’s grace, strength and guidance, we have continued to overcome difficulties. Let us use this occasion to make positive reflections as we strive together to build a better and safer Solomon Islands by advancing peace, security, unity, love and respect for each other.
As we celebrate our independence, let us not forget those who came before us, our forefathers and leaders who had fought for our freedom that continues to empower us to live and enjoy our freedom as a sovereign nation. Our tribute and respect to them.
We deeply acknowledge the commitment and sacrifices from all our frontline workers including Health, National Disaster Management, Police and Correctional officers who are at the forefront of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. We would also like to recognize our security and development partners for standing with us during our darkest moments throughout our 44 years of journey as a nation.
Let us all continue to work together to shape and build our country to become a safer, secure and peaceful place for all Solomon Islanders and our future generations. Our working together is our beginning, staying together is our working progress and our efforts to work together is our collective success. Therefore “Umi Tugeda for a Stronger and Peaceful Solomon Islands”.
May God continue to bless our beautiful country Solomon Islands from Shore to Shore.
