Our hardworking rural and urban farmers, and the people of Solomon Islands
On the occasion of our nation’s 47th Independence Anniversary, we extend our warmest greetings to all the people of Solomon Islands.
As we commemorate this important milestone under the theme “Unity and Stability for Transformation and Prosperity,” we reflect on the journey that began on 7th July 1978, when our people pledged to unite and build a free, strong, and self-governed nation.
Today, we honour that legacy with gratitude and determination, upholding the values of unity, resilience, and progress. Despite global challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, which has impacted lives and livelihoods, our strength lies in our land, our natural resources, and our enduring spirit.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock remains committed to supporting national growth by advancing agricultural development. In 2025, we are focused on implementing the priority policies of the Government for National Unity and Transformation (GNUT) through a whole value-chain approach to build a sustainable and stable agriculture sector.
We believe agriculture is the foundation of economic growth and food security. Therefore, we are nurturing agricultural entrepreneurs, investing in commercial agriculture and livestock development, and creating opportunities for employment, trade, and prosperity across our islands.
This Independence Anniversary is a moment to recommit ourselves—to make agriculture everyone’s business, and to use it as a platform for innovation, resilience, and transformation.
As we celebrate our nation’s freedom and achievements, let us also look forward with optimism and resolve, to build a vibrant, self-reliant and food-secure Solomon Islands.
Happy 47th Independence Anniversary, Solomon Islands!
May our future be filled with Joy, Peace, Progress, and Prosperity.
God Bless Solomon Islands, our beloved Happy Isles—from shore to shore.
Ends.
