The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources (MFMR) is pleased to formalize her work agreement with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Solomon Islands through signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 18th February 2021. The MOU was signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Christain Ramofafia and the WWF Pacific Director Mr. Mark Drew.
During the signing ceremony, the Permanent Secretary for Fisheries acknowledges WWF partnership and commitment in the past years in supporting national fisheries programs. He also emphasized that the signing shows the continuous support and commitment that WWF has towards national fisheries management and development.
The WWF Solomon Islands country director, Mr. Shannon Seeto conveys his gratitude to MFMR for going forward in formalizing the work agreement through signing of the MOU.
The MOU stipulates activities that both Parties agree to collaborate on. The area of mutual interest is on development of the national plan of action for sharks and on community based fisheries management and development.
