The Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT) and Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) organized a two-day training on COVID-19 Extra Care to 26 participants in Taro, the Choiseul Provincial Headquarter. The training was conducted on June 1 and June 2, 2021.

According to the Choiseul Provincial tourism officer, Carl- Max Qoso the participants were from the tourism businesses of the different parts around Choiseul.
The training was designed to help the tourism workers and tourism business owners on what, how, and why the Minimum Standards COVID-19 Extra care.
“During the training presentations and discussions, the usage of COVID-19 jargons and principles were evident,” according to the statement.
Savita Nandan Makabo awarded a male participant a certificate of the training.
And has been seen the essential of the tourism business owners, employees, and guests to thoroughly understand their individual responsibilities and how to apply such together to fight COVID-19 if it arrives on our shores.
The workshop participants also recommended if a follow up and refresher training can be organized for the participants to maximize the output of the training.
The trainers team consisted of the following Honiara based officials; Rachel Sibisopere (Tourism Principle Training officer), Tobias Sandakabatu (Tourism Senior officer for Tourism Quality Standards), Rolly Viga (officer of the National Public Health Emergency and Surveillance Unit, MHMS), and Savita Nandan Makabo (consultant). And supported by Carl- Marx Qoso (Choiseul Provincial Tourism officer).
