GCU OFFICERS UNDERGO DIGITAL MEDIA TRAINING
Officers of the Government Communication Unit (GCU) in partnership with SIG ICT Services are currently undergoing five days of digital media training at the ICT Services this week.
The virtual training programme was funded and facilitated by the Australian Government through the Pacific Media Assistance Scheme (PACMAS).
The Workshop focuses on key elements to improving content for enhanced engagement with social media audiences.
It covers planning digital campaigns, writing for social media, misinformation management and designing content for social media and websites.
Participants are expected to use current or upcoming projects that they will use in their campaign content.
Director of GCU, George Herming thanked the Australian Government through PACMAS for this valuable training programme for government communication officers.
“This will enhance our knowledge and skills to use social media to communicate government messages to targeted audiences and the general public,” Herming said.
Similar training programmes have been lined-up to cover other ministerial communication and public relations officers before the end of the year.
