CSSI Signs MOU with One Tribe Ministries
The Correctional Service of Solomon Islands (CSSI) and One Tribe Ministries (OTM), has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Correctional Service Headquarter, Rove.
This MOU allow the One Tribe Ministries to build partnership relationship with Correctional Services Solomon Island in providing meaningful spiritual, rehabilitation, educational, and skills training programs for the benefit of detainees and staff members of CSSI.
One Tribe Ministries is willing to work alongside with CSSI in a volunteer capacity, to assist with the rehabilitation program of CSSI. The areas of assistance were in spiritual, upskilling, life skills, literacy and commercialization.
These programs are there to complement the CSSI Rehabilitation policies in harnessing the participatory approach in utilising expertise in the rehabilitation, reintegration, counselling, and prison industry programs in providing an opportunity for prisoners to find meaningful employment and settle successfully back into society. We believe these programs can greatly assist in the reduction of recidivism.
