CSSI Senior Managers Conference Completed
Over the weekend, Senior Executives, Directors and Provincial Commandants from the Correctional Services of Solomon Islands (CSSI), have completed a week long, CSSI 19th Senior Managers Strategic Planning Conference held in Honiara from 16 – 20 June, 2025.
Speaking at the closing ceremony Commissioner Mactus Forau says “It is a great pleasure for me, as Commissioner, to stand before you this evening as we mark the successful conclusion of the 19th Senior Managers Strategic Planning Conference 2025.
Commissioner Forau also acknowledge the active participation, openness, and commitment demonstrated by all senior managers and stakeholders throughout this conference.
“Your contributions have been valuable in shaping the way forward for CSSI as we strive to be more effective, accountable, and aligned with GNUT policy priorities”. Says Forau
To our valued partners and advisers from DFAT and ASIPJ, thank you for walking alongside us — your technical guidance, mentoring, and resources have helped us focus on reform and capacity development that matters on the ground.
Commissioner commended Directors, Commandants and OIC’s for your leadership. It is through your daily commitment and dedication that our service is sustained and continues to grow.
While this conference draws to a close, our work continues. The outcomes and resolutions from this week must now translate into action — in our workplaces, in our leadership, and in the way we engage with communities and serve our people.
As we enjoy this evening’s fellowship and closing dinner, let us also take pride in the collective effort we have made. Let us return to our commands and responsibilities.
On speaking on behalf of the Correctional Centres Commandants, Superintendent Ian Qoloni acknowledged the Commissioner and his Executive staff, Advisors, Donor Partners, and Directors together with the Strategic Planning Committee for the opportunity given to Commandants, to attend this high-level strategic meeting.
Superintendent Qoloni acknowledged that the inclusion of the Commandants in such an important forum demonstrates the leadership’s commitment to inclusive decision-making, collaborative planning, and the recognition of frontline leadership roles in shaping the future direction of the Correctional Service of Solomon Islands (CSSI).
“This meeting not only allows us to contribute meaningfully to the strategic vision of the Service but also strengthens the alignment between national priorities and operational realities across our correctional centres. We are grateful for the trust placed in us and the platform provided to share our experiences, challenges, and aspirations for improved service delivery.”
