CSSI Receive free donations from ICRC
The global COVID-19 pandemic is destructed and is causing a lot of challenges in our work places, communities and families.
Globally and nationally, thousands of people infected have died and recovered after getting infected.
Earlier today, the Correctional Service Commissioner Gabriel Manelusi had the opportunity to receive donation free of charge from the Regional International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)
Materials donated were 600 Face Shield, 1000 Reusable mask, 8000 Gloves, 20 Can Spray (Disinfection) 5 litres, 8000 Surgical Masks, 1000 Sanitizers, 100 Chlorine/Bleach 5%, 1000 PE Aprons, 6 Oximeter and 4000 Isolation Gown.
The formal handing over ceremony was held at CSSI Headquarter with the Secretary General, SIRCS Clement Manuri and Commissioner Gabriel Manelusi.
During the handing over ceremony, the Secretary General conveyed the message from the ICRC Regional delegation in Suva and extended their greetings to CSSI. The organization is delighted in donating items and materials for the prevention of the spread of COVID-19.
They anticipated that the donation will be put to best use by the CS, in their endeavor to fight the pandemic in places of detention in the country. ICRC also pledged their continuous support to the CS in this regard and offered them to reach out in cases where further assistance is required.
In response, Manelusi sincerely thanked the ICRC Regional delegation in Suva and Secretary General, SIRCS Clement Manuri for their timely support.
He urged all to work together to fight against the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
