On April 18, 2023, Commandant and staff of Kirakira Correctional Centre (KCC) in Makira/Ulawa Province received first visit from the Commissioner of the Correctional Service Solomon Islands (CSSI) Mactus Forau.
Commissioner Forau held a meeting with KCC Management and staff to discuss and update his officers on the relocation of the Centre, succession planning to mold future leaders, infrastructure developments, staff discipline & performance and CSSI Strategic Plan 2023-2026.
Commissioner Forau acknowledged and thanked the KCC Commandant and staff for mounting the guard of honour parade and their commitment and support rendered towards the Commissioner and Executive Office.
The KCC Management and Staff are encouraged during the muster to maintain a high level of discipline and professionalism that was notably displayed in honor of his first ever official visit to the Province since taking up the role as CSSI Commissioner late last year 2022.
“I know you are shaping in good standard here and I acknowledge your Commandant, Head of Departments, Ranks and Files to work together as a team; one Act, one Regulation , and one Organization CSSI”, says Forau.
KCC Commandant Mr. Michael Koroa thanked the Commissioner for his visit to the Centre and looking forward to continue working together with the Commissioner Office to meet what the government and people of Solomon Islands requires or expect from us.
