CPLT together with RSIPF visited SINU and launch a poetry sharing activity
The China Police Liaison Team (CPLT), together with the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), visited the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) and launched a poetry-sharing activity.
The event happened on 14 May 2026, with more than 70 teachers and students participating with the theme ‘Discovering the Beauty of the Solomon Islands through the Essence of Chinese Poetry’.
At the beginning of the activity, members of the CPLT briefly introduced China’s history, culture, and poetic traditions before sharing over 20 modern poems composed during their mission.
Centering on the landscapes and local customs of the Solomon Islands, the poems depicted vivid images of local men, women, mothers, and fathers. They highlighted the fine qualities of the Solomon Islands (SI) people, including friendliness, kindness, bravery, diligence, and sincerity.
Expressing aspirations through poetry, the team encouraged university students to study diligently, think deeply and speak bravely, explore the scenic, cultural, and spiritual beauty of the SI, and strive unremittingly to build a peaceful, stable, and prosperous nation.
The venue was fully packed with a vibrant and interactive atmosphere. All participants savored the poems together, appreciated the oriental aesthetics, and immersed themselves in the unique charm of fine traditional Chinese culture.
Teachers and students present shared their thoughts enthusiastically. Some students said that they had long been curious about Chinese culture, and the sharing allowed them to perceive the romance and profound affection in poetry, making them fall deeply in love with Chinese poetry.
Others commented that such cultural exchanges are highly meaningful, which have deepened their understanding of China and narrowed the distance between the youth of China and the SI. They expressed the hope of taking part in more similar cultural exchange activities.
During the break, CPLT displayed fruitful achievements in China-SI police cooperation. The team also introduced Chinese tea culture and invited participants to experience it. Participants enjoyed traditional Chinese music and short videos showcasing Chinese civilization, gaining insight into the profound heritage and vibrant vitality unique to Chinese civilization.
The activity conveyed sincere wishes for the future friendship between the two countries and was warmly welcomed by all participating teachers and students.
