CHQ and RCCC Dart Competition opened

The Correctional Service Solomon Islands Headquarters (CHQ) and Rove Central Correctional Centre (RCCC) Dart competition officially opened over the weekend at the Correctional Service Headquarters, Rove, Honiara

Chairman of the Executive Committee Supervising Assistant Commissioner Corporate Services Mr. Robert Gada welcome the senior executives, senior officers, staff, and players to the official opening of the Internal Darts Competition 2026.

Assistant Commissioner Mr. Gada says, this tournament is more than a sporting event. It represents an opportunity to strengthen unity, cooperation, teamwork, and healthy interaction among staff from our various work units of CHQ and RCCC.

He emphasised that Correctional work demands professionalism, commitment, resilience, and teamwork. Sporting activities such as this provide an avenue for staff to relax, build friendships, and foster positive working relationships outside the normal work environment.

Deputy Commissioner Administration Mr. Christopher Bwekulyi in his official address says, sport plays an important role in promoting physical wellbeing, teamwork, camaraderie, resilience, and healthy relationships within any organisation.

Deputy Commissioner Bwekulyi strongly emphasised that the Correctional Service Solomon Islands relies heavily on teamwork and cooperation to achieve its objectives. Activities such as this help strengthen those values by bringing staff together outside their usual work environments.

He commends the Executive Committee and Tournament Committee for their efforts in organising this initiative.

Deputy Commissioner also encourages team players to compete in a manner that reflects the professionalism and integrity expected of Correctional Officers and public servants. Play hard, play fairly, respect one another, and most importantly enjoy the competition.

He wishes every team success and trust that this tournament will be conducted in a spirit of friendship and sportsmanship.
