AFP partnership supporting community wellbeing through sport in Solomon Islands

RSIPF Royals Women’s Football Club players and supporters in Honiara, with RAPPP support contributing to uniforms and equipment that promote team pride, inclusion and participation in women’s sport.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP), through the RSIPF–AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), is supporting practical initiatives that are helping strengthen health, wellbeing and community connections across Solomon Islands. In Honiara, RAPPP advisors are working alongside the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) to support activities that promote participation in sport, healthy lifestyles and inclusion.

This includes ongoing support to the RSIPF Judo Club, which provides a structured and inclusive environment for members to build fitness, discipline and confidence. The club continues to bring together participants of all ages and experience levels, creating a positive space focused on respect, teamwork and wellbeing.

RAPPP is also supporting the RSIPF Royals Women’s Football Club, which continues to create opportunities for women and girls to participate in organised sport. With women’s football growing across Solomon Islands, the team is helping build confidence, teamwork and pathways for development both on and off the field.

Through RAPPP, support has been provided for uniforms and essential equipment, helping ensure players can safely take part in training and competition. Access to appropriate equipment supports participation, while also building a sense of pride, unity and professionalism within the team.

For many participants, this support removes barriers that may otherwise limit their ability to take part in sport.These initiatives are contributing to stronger community connections and promoting positive, active lifestyles. They also support broader efforts to ensure women and girls have access to safe and inclusive opportunities across sport and community activities.

Through programs like the RSIPF Judo Club and the RSIPF Royals Women’s Football Club, RAPPP continues to work alongside RSIPF to deliver practical support that benefits both participants and the wider community.
