A RAV4 overturned at Kwaibala; the driver was charged
A man in his 20s overturned with a blue RAV4 at Kwaibala river early in the morning on 8 January 2026.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander Malaita Province Superintendent Michael Romosaea said it was alleged that the driver was drunk and asleep and overturned the car.
Supervising PPC Ramosaea said the accident had occurred when the driver travelled from Kwaibala to Auki.
PPC Ramosaea said police attended to the report and investigated the accident. The driver has been served with a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP).
Mr. Ramosaea said the 20-year-old driver has been charged for careless and inconsiderate driving and will appear in Auki Magistrates’ Court on a later date.
