MPNSCS Advances Institutional Reform and Police Academy Modernisation
Senior RSIPF and MPNSCS officers, technical specialists and external partners engage in strategic consultations to strengthen and modernise the RSIPF Police Academy Training Curriculum
The Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services (MPNSCS) has successfully concluded a two-day consultation workshop focused on advancing the Institutional Strengthening Reform Programme and RSIPF Police Academy Modernisation Programme.
The workshop brought together senior leadership and technical representatives to assess progress, identify priority reforms and agree on practical pathways for implementation.
Day One focused on the Institutional Strengthening Reform Programme, including taking stock of progress since its approval and identifying critical capability projects requiring renewed attention and coordinated implementation.
Day Two focused on the Police Academy Modernisation Programme, including validating the new Police training curriculum architecture, progress towards accreditation, and strengthening the Academy’s training capability.
Participants included senior staff from MPNSCS Headquarters and the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), together with representatives from IPAM, PIMEU, USP, SINU, and technical teams from OrgClinic.
Permanent Secretary Mr. Trevor emphasised the strategic importance of translating reform priorities into sustainable institutional capability.
“Our focus must be on moving from plans and recommendations to implementation and measurable results. We must strengthen our institutions today while building the capabilities required to anticipate and respond to the emerging security challenges of tomorrow.”
The Permanent Secretary acknowledged the commitment of the Taskforce and technical teams in progressing SITESA accreditation and the curriculum review, noting that the modernisation of the Police Academy is fundamental to building a professional, capable and future-ready police service.
The Ministry expressed its appreciation to all participants and partners for their constructive contributions and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the momentum generated through the consultation and translating the outcomes into clear priorities, actions and measurable results.
