JICA SDGs Global Leaders Scholarship Program 2026

Undergraduate, Master’s and PhD Programmes

The Ministry of National Planning and Development Coordination (MNPDC), in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), is pleased to announce the JICA SDGs Global Leaders Scholarship Program for eligible Solomon Islands applicants interested in pursuing Undergraduate, Master’s and PhD studies.

The scholarship provides an opportunity for suitably qualified Solomon Islanders to pursue higher education and develop the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the development priorities of Solomon Islands.

Study Opportunities

Applications are invited for:

• Undergraduate Studies
• Master’s Studies
• PhD Studies

Interested applicants are encouraged to carefully review the relevant application package and the General Application Instructions before submitting their applications.

Important Application Information

Applicants should note that candidates must first be nominated and endorsed by the Solomon Islands Government, followed by approval by JICA. Successful applicants will subsequently undergo screening by their selected universities. Universities may reject applications where required documents are incomplete or where the proposed research plan does not meet their criteria.

Applicants are also responsible for following the application procedures and requirements of their selected universities.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

Complete application forms and all supporting documents must be submitted to the Ministry of National Planning and Development Coordination (MNPDC) no later than:

31 OCTOBER 2026

Applicants are strongly encouraged to prepare and submit their applications well before the deadline.

Important: For universities requiring a pre-application matching process, candidate nominations and selections are scheduled to take place from the beginning of September 2026.
