International Women’s Day Celebration.
The International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated annually on March 8th. It is a global day that celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women worldwide while urging a renewed commitment to accelerating gender parity.
In Honiara, IWD, will be celebrated on the 10th and 11th of March. The official program will start on March 10th, 2026 with the parade assembling at the Ministry of Justice area, Town Ground, and proceeding to Mall purpose hall by 7.:30am. The official program will start promptly at 8:45am, featuring special activities and speeches designed to highlight women’s achievements and promote justice and safety for all.
This year’s events center around two inspiring themes: “Savve lo Raets Blong evri Women En Gels Fo Helpim Kamapum Gut Vois Blong Olketa” and “Aksonim Justice Fo Buildim Wanfala Seif En Ikol Future.” These themes emphasise the importance of knowing women’s rights, supporting their empowerment, and taking action to create a just and safe future for all
International Women’s Day is not only a celebration but a collective movement towards ensuring every woman and girl can raise their voice and live safely. We encourage everyone in the community to take part, learn, and stand together for gender equality and justice.
The Ministry, alongside its partners, warmly welcomes all members of the public to attend and participate in this important event.
