5 CSSI Officers Promoted to the Rank of Sergeant
Five (5) officers of the Correctional Service of Solomon Islands (CSSI) were officially promoted to the rank of Sergeant during the recent Commissioner’s Parade held at the Correctional Service Headquarters, Rove in Honiara.
CSSI Commissioner Mactus Forau formally announced the promotions, acknowledging the exceptional service and dedication demonstrated by the officers throughout their careers.
The officers promoted were:
- Sergeant Beatrace Konga – Tetere Correctional Centre
- Sergeant Daniel Tiba – Tetere Correctional Centre
- Sergeant Zamora Tamao – Professional Standards Unit, CSSI Headquarters
- Sergeant Cliff Marehasi – Rove Central Correctional Centre
- Sergeant Bernard Fa’aferoa – Rove Central Correctional Centre
Commissioner Forau stated that the promotions signify the organisation’s recognition of both the officers’ achievements and their ongoing commitment to serving God, the government, and the people of Solomon Islands.
“As your Commissioner, I would like to say that the success of Correctional Services depends on the strong and sound leadership you provide”.
He further reiterated that strong leaders drive performance and effectiveness across the organisation, fostering an environment where all senior and subordinate officers can perform to their fullest potential.
Commissioner Forau reminded the newly promoted sergeants to carry out their duties diligently, with loyalty and hard work, in accordance with their mandated roles and responsibilities.
Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, Sergeant Beatrace Konga expressed sincere appreciation to the Office of the Commissioner for its leadership in driving the agency forward.
She also thanked the Tetere Commandant and management team for having confidence in her and her colleagues, acknowledging that they are ready to take on the responsibilities entrusted to them at Tetere Correctional Centre.
