CSSI Training Academy Registered as a Recognised Tertiary Provider
The Correctional Service of Solomon Islands (CSSI) Training Academy (CSTA) has been officially registered by the Solomon Islands Tertiary Education and Skills Authority (SITESA) as a Registered Tertiary Provider (RTP) under the Solomon Islands Tertiary Education and Skills Authority Act 2017.
The CSTA is registered under Registration Number: SITESA/QAD/REG/2025/001 and has also been granted accreditation for the tertiary course PQ240301 – Certificate III in Correctional Practice, effective from 6 June 2025 to 5 June 2030.
SITESA Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Constance Nasi, congratulated CSSI on meeting the national standards for quality assurance in tertiary education and skills development. She acknowledged the Academy’s commitment since the initial trial audit in October 2023, noting its efforts to address recommendations, close identified gaps, and align operations with national quality standards.
“Your institution successfully met the requirements for tertiary course accreditation on 22 November 2024. Following this, SITESA conducted an on-site institutional audit from 19–21 November 2024, reviewing your facilities, systems, and processes in accordance with SITESA Registration Standards”.
“We also commend your prompt submission of additional evidence on 7 February 2025 and your resubmission report on 12 March 2025, which confirmed full compliance,” says Mrs. Nasi.
She encouraged CSSI to continue prioritising quality and implementing ongoing improvements in the areas highlighted in the final audit report.
CSSI Commissioner Mr. Mactus Forau expressed his appreciation to SITESA for recognising CSSI as a trusted and accredited training provider in the Solomon Islands.
“This milestone reflects our strong commitment to quality and institutional excellence. I commend the Director of the CSSI Training Academy, Mr. Joseph Watawa, and his dedicated staff for their hard work and perseverance throughout this process,” says Commissioner Forau.
The registration and accreditation mark a significant step forward for CSSI in advancing professional training and capacity development within the correctional service sector.
