Text: Merry Christmas to you all. During this season of new beginnings, let us take the time to reflect on the many blessings in our lives, as we come together to celebrate the teachings of peace, forgiveness, and reconciliation through the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
We would like to assure the country and our partners that we will continue to discharge our core functions that include;
- Promoting adaptation to climate change, and climate change mitigation based on low-carbon approaches to increase national resilience and the achievement of our development goals;
- Provide leadership in the development and maintenance of measures to support institutions and communities to reduce risks, and manage the consequences of disasters including man-made ones such as COVID-19;
- Continue to promote the conservation, sustainable use and management of our environment and natural resources to benefit us now, and into the future;
- And to ensure the safety of our people and properties, and support our development programmes through the preparation and discharge of professional and evidence-based weather, climate and ocean services.
May the Grace and Peace of Christ be with us, as we celebrate a Happy, Safe and Blessed Christmas and look forward to a Prosperous New Year 2022.
